This is going to sound really stupid... what is the difference between the
two drives??

My c drive seems to be 99% full and my d drive is 99% free! I dont seem to
be able to save anything on my computer anymore and its quite frustrating. I
keep having to delete things and I know I am going to delete something
important!!

Please help me!

they are 2 different entities for all intents and purposes. Your c: which
would be you r main drive is almost full while your d drive is empty. I
suggest that you move some programs over to the d: or start saving your
documents to d: instaed. But you really should clean up your d since it will
have a terrific impact on speed and performance.

The difference could be any one of the following two:

1) Two different pysical drives. Each drive are separate and Windws sees
both as two different drive letters. Windows can not normally take the free
space from thee second drive and place in onto the C drive. (unless the
drives were originally set as a RAID 0 or dynamic drives)

2) Two partitions on the same drive. With utilitites like Partition
Magic, you can merge/re-assign free unused space to Drive C. This can only
be done if the partitions C and D are on the same drive.

You can move your "My Docments" over to Drive D (although I do not need to
do this myself)

Move your documents, music, photos to D: drive.. also, you could uninstall
and then re-install some of your lesser programs to that drive too..

If you save many files originated in MS Word or any other MS Office program,
open the program and navigate to TOOLS - OPTIONS and then click on the tab
'File Locations' to change the default open and save directory to a folder
on D.. you will, of course need to create a directory on D: called 'Office
Files' or similar..

When installing programs in the future, you might want to select 'custom'
install which, more often than not, gives you the option to install to a
folder that is not the default as chosen by the program..

Assuming that they are both hard drives, and d: isn't something
like a CD drive, they are two different places where you can
store things.

It's like drawers is a chest of drawers. You have two drawers,
but all your shirts are crammed into one of them, and the other
is empty. Life would be easier, and you'd have room for more
shirts if you got them, if you'd put some of the shirts in the
other drawer.

You can readily move data from one drive to the other, but it's
not so easy with programs. In general, to move programs, you'll
need to uninstall the program from C: and then reinstall it on
d:.

My c-drive is almost full and my d-drive space is all free. would it be wise
to move files or programs to the d-drive , and how would this be
accomplished? I was thinking about moving "My Pictures and my I-tunes music
files as this would free up lots of memory in the c-drive.
