I'm trying retore a file from a CD to Quickbooks and the
file is read-only. So I tried to copy the file to a new
folder on the hardware and I received the message DATA
ERROR: CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK

This means that there is a problem with the drive reading the Cd or the cd has scratches which prevents reading the data.

Clean the CD Drive using a cd drive cleaner or wipe your CD carefully with a soft cloth and try again.

If the problem persists continously it means that the CD is gone for good. This is a common scenario with most CD-R's.

Means your file is corrupted. Every sector has a CRC that has to match the data else the hard drive freaks and tells windows the sector is corrupted. Computers refuse to work with corruption to stop the problem multiplying.
