Cut the Old > Paste the New

I have a VERY long document with multiple graphics throughout. The graphics
are outdated and need to be updated.

What I want to do is Cut the existing graphic and paste in the new graphic,
into the same space/size. What I have been running into is that when the new
graphic is pasted into the document EVERYTHING is skewed from that point on
in the doc, the image sizes dont match up.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ben-

What you are finding is that, like many apps, Word provides no control of
image size until _after_ the image is inserted/pasted into the doc. The
optimum situation is to have the images accurately prepared beforehand using
the appropriate software (such as PhotoShop). If that isn't possible, the
images will have to be resized manually after putting them into the Word doc.

It might be a good idea to check each image's properties first for
dimensions and then use those measurements to resize the replacements. The
doc 'should' reflow accordingly as the new image sizes are adjusted to match
the ones they are replacing. The assumption here is that the old & new are
proportionately the same (not replacing a 1.1 X 1.25 with one that _must_ be
..75 X 1.3, for example). You may also find that using Text Wrapping Advanced
settings will help control text flow better than relying on in-line images.

Good Luck |:>)
