Does anyone out there know of a way to protect a formula
from alteration by the cuting and pasting of another cell
(that is a cell that the formula references)? In other
words, I would like to establish a truely absolute cell
reference.
For example: if cell C5 contains the formula "=2*B2". I
would like to be able to cut cell B2 and paste it to some
other location without the formula in C5 changing the B2
refrence. I have tried using absolute cell refernces
(i.e. $B$2) as well as setting the protection cell on the
C5 cell. Neither work.
I also realize that using copy and paste gets around this
issue - but I need to make the formula in quesiton
unalterable.
