Dude

When i cut and paste password sites into the address bar
it always comes up with a blank page. Example
Http://Dude;[email protected]

It does this with all password protected sites when you
cut and paste. I have to manually enter xyzcompany.com
then enter user and pass info. Any way to correct this.
Just started doing this about three weeks ago.

SP2? AFAIK, one of the changes is blocking a URL syntax that passes
passwords as part of the URL. This is a Good Thing, but it does break
current common practice and may be your problem here.

Running Windows-based av to kill active malware is like striking
a match to see if what you are standing in is water or petrol.

Thanks cquirke....is there any way around this that you
know of without uninstalling service pack2? Thanks

Is there a work around to solve that problem or a specific
download that could be uninstalled?

I don't know - this is just something I read as being an issue; I
haven't seen SP2 yet, and don't use that sort of URL syntax.

I'd be more inclined to find an alternate approach that doesn't wave
pwds around in plaintext URLs :-)
