Cut and paste from one workbook to another

I cannot copy (cntl +c) and paste (cntl +v) cells from one workbook to another.... Any ideas why I cannot do that?

Sorry this is the MS Access (the database program) newsgroup. Try
microsoft.public.excel or annexcafe.general.user2user newsgroups.
