used to be able (in ME & 98) to "file" a program start in whatever start "subfolder" i wanted to create.
ya know: start-settings-taskbar & start menu-customized-advance, etc

in xp, the complete list of avail programs do not show up to arrange/file/customiz

what gives

any help would be much appreciate

Hi,

You can rearrange the program links under these folders:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Start Menu\Programs

The first will affect all users, the second will only affect the individual
user profile.

Plus once you create whatever subfolders you want you can drag and drop
within the Start menu.
