Customizing "Default Profile"

So I would guess it has been established that one should not copy a
customized profile to the default users profile for reasons that never were
an issue before but are an issue now. Fair enough.
So in the new world order how does one customize the default user profile so
that each and every user who logs in for the first time, in a controlled
corporate environment, gets the same look and feel on the desktop and access
to the same applications?
Any help, including links to other resources, would be appreciated and
Thanks for it.

You have a very good question here - I'm trying to find out the same information (see my post 3 postings up from yours). I thought the MS Technote #319974 nicely explained what we needed, but it's not working for me once I join the domain. Good luck - I'll be checking other responses to your post!

I'd read that article before and was applying the same concept until I came
to this group and read the warnings. But now that I've gone back and reread
the article I'm thinking we might not have an issue. Article emphasises a
Caution about using Admin account as the profile to copy to Default User.
I'll buy that considering you can't copy the Admin profile you're logged in
as anyway. So why bother trying considering the warning. So I create a Dummy
Controlled Profile and make all my modifications to this "extra profile who
has admin rights" and finalize it and make sure it has the look & feel
Corporate requires I'd then be able to copy that to default user using the
real Admin login. If I use a Local Account and disable it after I'm done
with it, it should have some security and be there if I need to go back. So
I think I'll gamble on this considering not having an option to configure
Default User is not an option.
Thanks
