Hi

Im looking at customising Normal.dot to use Arial 11. Im creating
new Desktop SOE for the organisation Im working for and must ensure al
users get the updated template. On a clean install of Windows XP an
Office 2000 Std, no normal.dot exists.. It is created on Word firs
use.

How do I create a customised normal.dot that gets used by all user
when they logon (normal.dot is user specific)?? I can create th
normal.dot but where do I save it that allows it to be used by al
users?

Is there any best practices for modifying normal.dot fonts an
toolbars??

Thanks
Anthon

Normal.dot is a user customisable file and there is no cause for you to mess
with it. Set the appearance of documents required for the company in
document templates. Make sure these are available to all using the Workgroup
template folder, and insist that employees use the appropriate document
templates for company documents. Toolbars autotexts and company macros can
be applied either in the document templates that require them or in a global
template.
Do not under any circumstances be persuaded to try and share normal.dot.
