hi, have been trying to get a Custom format to work for excluding certain
text characters
would think that where [=9]"";0 works for numbers; can not get to
work for text,
e.g.: [="xx"]"";General does not work, any suggestions or can MS fix ?
thanks

have bee trying to get a formula to be able to sort, with "xx" as the
negative
result, am trying to get "xx" removed from view.
e.g. formula: =IF(quantity <50,"xx", else true
where variations of output (as text) include: a0 br dd p0 p1 p2 p3 v1 v2 xx
There does not seem to be a ready made Custom Format for hiding text...

not working:
["xx"]"";General
[="xx"]"";General
General;General;General;[Yellow]General
[Yellow]"xx";[Black]General
[Yellow]Text="xx";[Black]General
0;-0;;@

Not a custom format as such, but perhaps this type of formula might help.

=IF(ISTEXT(IF(A1<50,"xx",A1)),"",A1)

or maybe just

=IF(A1<50,"",A1)
