I would like to use a date format that Excel 2000 does not
have available. The format is YYYY/MM/DD.

Does anyone know if/how I can make this format in Excel
2000?

Thanks for your help.

Dwayne

Hi
in the Format - Cells Dialog choose 'Custom' in the listbox and enter
this format directly in the textbox

Format/Cells Number tab, select Custom in the left hand box, then type your
format in the 'type' box. Note that the built-in date formats use lower case.
I don't know whether case matters here.

Put it as your short date in your "Regional settings" Date tab.
The ISO format is actually yyyy-mm-dd
to eliminate/reduce ambiguity. Works nice until you try to
enter dates in the form you are used to entering them. Wish
I could type one way and use the ISO date. So with that you
will introduce some problems, like date entry. You may have to
reboot though I think it works instantly in Excel.
