custom animation - changing size in grow/shrink effect

How do you change the zoom size in the animation effects box? The drop down menu has a custom setting but every time I enter a different percentage in the box it automatically resets to 400% when I only want 250%. I am using Powerpoint XP.

I guess the first thing is to type the amount in and then hit <Enter> to
make it set to that amount. Else it may jump back?

Yeah. Hitting Enter is the key here. Happened to me just yesterday, as a
matter of fact...
