Cursor and Hour Glass

I am running XP Professional with the lastest Windows
updates. Ocassionally, while the system is not in use,
the cursor will blink to an hour glass and then back to
the cursor agian. This is repeated continually, back and
forth. Has anyone had this happen and know of a fix?

Hi!
it indicates that something is running at the background,as
a result it remains busy, scan your system with anti-virus
as well as spyware.
