Hi,
I use an app which works out Average Item Price. When I export from the app
to excel, I'm expecting to see £6.33, but instead I get '6.33125634544 . The
' seems to mark it as text, so neither the currency button or format as
currency works. Find and replace won't find the ' .

This should be simple but I'm really stuck. The volume of work means
manually changing each cell really isn't an option.

Help !

Here is how to convert numbers stored as test to numbers:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. On the Error Checking tab, make sure that the Enable background error
checking check box and the Number stored as text check box are both selected,
and then click OK.

3. On the worksheet, select any single cell or range of adjacent cells that
has an error indicator in the upper-left corner. Note All cells in the
selection must be adjacent.

4. Next to the selected cell or range of cells, click the error button that
appears, and then click Convert to Number.

Format cells to General.......won't change to numbers yet.

Copy an empty cell formatted to General.

Select range of numbers and Paste Special>Add>OK>Esc.
