Hi

My work has just upgraded my work computer to Windows XP Professional. But
we can use CTRL-P to bring up the print dialog box. This is very fustrating
as it takes us longer to print information out.

Can anyone help.

On another issue we use and 2003 exchange server and all information is
stored there and we are now finding that it is slower to access documents is
this a common problem??

Thanks

Andrew

And you don't ask the IT dept, or the network admins where you are about
these issues?
This all may be setup that way by design.

Tom

There is no IT Departmant. The Manager is doing it himself to cut back on
costs cause we depend on government grants and only get a certain amount per
year.

and Yes Mentioned it to him but he couldnt offer any solutions to the
problem. Just said "Must be a windows thing they must have changed".

So i am seeking other sources for solutions or ideas as to what the problem
maybe so i can inform him.

Regards

Andrew

Ctrl+p is not new. Used the same combination in 98SE, NT, Me and 2000.

Takes longer than what?

I have no clue on exchange servers.

I know CTRL P is not new. Its just not working. All the other shortcuts are
working like copy, cut, paste etc.

Documents are taking longer to load. Previously had windows 2000 NT and
would take about 15 seconds to load a word document. Samer document now
takes about 1 minute longer than it did before

Make a new hotkey.

Create a temporary shortcut on your desktop of the Printers and Faxes icon
from Control Panel. Right click on the shortcut, properties, and under the
Shortcut tab, and then with having (it should by default) the cursor already
blinking in the Shortcut Key window, hold down the letter "P" (or any letter
you want), and it will place a hotkey in it for you. Apply and OK out, then
this should work. I know it isn't the CTRL+P, but, it will give you what you
need. You can delete the the shortcut from your desktop.

Keep in mind, when the cursor in blinking in the box, you cannot try to
delete the word "None" from there, just hold the key you want down, and it
will place it in there for you.
