As I understand it, you can type something in the address
line ("google" for instance) then press Ctrl + Enter and
IE will automatically place www. & .com around
it...You'll end up with "www.google.com." It worked like
that for a while, but now when I do that it acts just
like I'm pressing Enter and usually takes me to the MSN
search page for Google. What changed? What am I doing
wrong?

You need to check inline autocomplete in
tools \internet options \advanced.
Then apply and okay your way out.

Check the registry keys.

Question: My CTRL+ENTER keys (which adds www.???.com to a word in the
address bar stopped working.
How do I get back this functionality?

Solution:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoCo
mplete]
"Append Completion"="no"
"Use AutoComplete"="yes"
"AutoSuggest"="no"

Changing "Append Completion" from "no" to "yes" will restore the function.
