Hi everyone

Firstly, this is not a LOGON issue

I have a laptop running Windows XP Pro sp1 on a W2K Domain. There are two
issues with it - firstly when it is logged in and you are working, and want
to access the "Windows Security" windows by pressing ctrl-alt-del,
absolutely nothing happens when you press those keys. Secondly, when you
click on start, shutdown or start, log off, absolutely nothing happens, it
just remains on the desktop screen with the start menu, and you can just
click in the menu, run some other program.

The laptop has been scanned and cleared of viruses, it has also been cleared
of ad ware and spy ware..

Can anyone explain this?

If the machine has been infected by a virus and / or large amounts of
spyware/adware/trojans have been on the system *and* the system is
experiencing these problems I would strongly suggest reinstalling the
system. I don't trust such a machine for a bit.
