Hi There,

I'm experiencing the following problem on my machine where once it goes into
screen saver mode the Ctrl-Alt-Del disappears. I then need to hard reboot
the machine and am able to logon and work, but the problem re-occurs when it
goes into screen saver mode.

I've run an AV as well as an antispyware scan of my machine, but this has
not found anything.

Please let me know if you have any advice.

Thank you.

The llogon window is not there anymore. All i see is the background. The
system is still running though.

We assume you mean Ctl-Alt-Del fails to turn on the Task
Manager as it should:
1. Hardware: test whether each of these three functions
otherwise as it ought.
2. Software: if Task Manager modules have been
damaged SFC = System File Checker might catch this
(and prompt you for reinstallation from the CD.)
3. We know that some malware disables Ctl-Alt-Del so
as to inhibit early detection and repair.
4. If the problem persists, it might be fastest to reinstal
the operating system.

I'm confused-----Ctrl-Alt -Del brings up Task Manager.
Could you explain logon window?
When screensaver is present hitting any key on the keyboard will bring it
back to where it left off.

A temporary solution would be to turn off the screen saver feature.
