Cryptographic service

Hi been trying to download the new Windows Update and when I go to install
them I get the following message.....Setup could not verify the integrity of
the file Update.Inf Make sure the Cryptographic service is running on this
computer.....Would appreciate any help getting it going again or whatever I
have to downloaded to get it back up and running.... thanks
 
When you install Windows XP SP1, you receive 'The Update.inf file is not
correct'?
Setup Error
The <path>\Update.inf file is not correct.
If Cyptographic Services has NOT been started, you will receive this error.
To resolve this problem:
1. Open a CMD prompt.
2. Type net start "Cyptographic Services".

Rename the folder windows\system32\catroot2 and reboot. That will
generate a new, clean folder, and you can then delete the renamed one.

Then get - only - Q817287 and install it, which should now be OK. It
is the cure for the problem: you should then be able to carry on with
other updates, and the problem will not recur
