C Cindy M -WordMVP- Sep 13, 2004 #2 Hi =?Utf-8?B?cXdlcnR5?=, How do you get a cross reference to automatically delete when you delete the original reference? Click to expand... Word doesn't provide this functionality. However, if you use Ctrl+A, F9 to force the fields to update you ought to get error messages in place of the cross-reference results, making them easier to find (Edit/Find).
