I am using access 97 at work. I am using a form to enter
report criteria. In the report I have specified field 1 or
2 or 3 to select the data. That all works fine.

As the database grows i want to select criteria that
matches only the critereia I enter in two of the fields.
When I try this I get records that match either criteria
not just both.

I can not find a way to do this.

hi,
you did not post your SQL so i am guessing.
but it sound like you are using the OR keyword and you
need to be using the AND keyword i.e. criteria1 AND
criteria2.

I have tried using the "and" in the sql but it then wants
both fields to have data in them to find records.

Having read my original I don't think it is very clear. I
am trying to search as per:

I want to be able to search for field A only or I want to
search field A&B where it is only items that =A&B not
either A or B.

Thanks

Paul
