Creating Training Presentations

I would like to make a training presentation e.g. for a new staff orientation
where you are showing how to fill in forms, etc. (Presently, I am using
Version 2000 however, will be changing to 2003 within the next few months).

This presentation would also have animations. I am not sure if this can be
done using PowerPoint. If so, please tell me the feature. If this is not
possible using PowerPoint, can anyone suggest the program that will allow
this?

Depending on exactly what your final 'presentation' needs to look like this
is very doable.
- First is to get screen captures of the forms
- Insert images of forms into the presentation
- Add text boxes with form info - position over form input area - animate
(eg. Wipe Right or Typerwriter)
- If a web-based form, add large cursor image and animate (Move with motion
path or fade) on next button/link to click. Then go to next slide, which
shows where that link lead to
- For really advanced stuff, you can add hyperlinks to allow presenter to
move from page to page in a more realistic simulation.

Hope that provides some ideas.

Yes, it is possible to archieve that. For example, you can paste a screenshot
showing the form. Then, have animation which shows the steps orderly. You can
also add arrows pointing to the input field for clarity. Is that what you
want?

A couple ways you might do it.

As others suggested, use a screen capture and place text on it as desired.

Another option is to insert the actual application and have directions to
it's side (on the slide) or on a slide before firing the slide with the app.
