Creating forms in Microsoft Word

Hi

I managed to create a form with check boxes and fill in
text, and I protected the doc. But when I tested it, I
was still able to hit return within the text box (even
though it was set at a fixed character length) which
altered the rest of the document. Is there any way to
prevent this from happening?

There are two approaches. You can put the form field in a table cell with
exact row height (this doesn't prevent users from pressing Enter, but the
excess text will be neither displayed nor printed). Or you can code the
Enter key to behave the same as Tab (taking users to the next field). See
