Creating custom text and content slide layouts

I need to know how to create custom text and content slide layouts in
Powerpoint. None of the layouts offered fit the layout I need. Can I just
alter the exsisting ones and paste images into text boxes?

TSF,
PowerPoint won't natively let you do this.

However, there is an add-in that I wrote with help from Steve
Rindsberg that does do just this. There's a demo of this at
