attilathehun1My brother is creating a new e-mail and wants to know what POP3
is? I told him that I'd like to know also. The different set-ups of e-mails.
He wants the basic e-mail service. The regular standard e-mail with no
extras. Which option should he choose?
Thanks, Attilathehun1

A POP3 server is like a post office box: It accumulates all
incoming mail and delivers it to you when you ask for it.

It is not possible to answer your other questions unless you
state exactly what EMail program you use. Outlook? Outlook
Express? Hotmail? Other? You should then post your question
in the appropriate newsgroup, e.g. the one for Outlook or for
Outlook Express.

Then go call your ISP to ask them what mail server *they* provide since
that is likely the one you or him will be using, anyway.

He should choose the option of checking with his ISP. They'll tell
him what format he should use.

Why ask here? Windows has no ability to send/receive e-mail. If you
have questions regarding an email program, like Outlook, Outlook
Express or other program, go to the group that is meant for that
program and ask THERE.
