Creating a PST file at the server level

Tech guys, How do I create this PST (Archive) file from the server level. Am
on office 2003 - exchange 5.5 ?
 
A pst file can only be created by Outlook or by using the Exmerge tool
against a mailbox/message store. You need to explain with a bit more detail
what you are trying to do.
 
Hi Noel,

When we talk of Exmerge tool, what are we talking about and how do I go
about this. I would like to create this pst file and send it ove to some one.

Apart from using data file management tool in Microsoft Outlook, how else
will I be able to work around this ?

but knowing a bit more about what you want to do then I would log into this
mailbox from a workstation and then create a pst in outlook and drag the
items into it. You need to make sure on what version of Outlook you are
using and the version of Outlook that the person you are sending the pst
file to as there is differences in the format of pst file dependant on
version.

One more question, still on the exmerge utility, does it matter where I
deploy it. Must it be on the server or a workstation will still do ?
 
I have only ever used on the server, (used it once a million years ago) a
lot more experienced people in the Exchange Newsgroups would give better
advice than me though.
