I set up a simple web page thru a hosting service. On one page I have a
button to play a .wmv file, and that works to launch the player and run the
video. I'd like to email a link to potential clients. The link would
automatically launch the player and run the video. What would the link look
like? (e.g., http://www.domain name/page/???????

"potential clients" is the key phrase:
And assuming they have, or are **allowed** media players etc.
There are many industries that "limit" what staff can and cannot
do online during work hours, and as it is a WMV you may find
that your "potential clients" have this blocked, for obvious reasons.
The usual process for this sort of "marketing" is to upload as a
flash animation, it's still a video clip, but dosen't require media
players, codecs, and won't worry security issues etc.

Examples:

Thank you for your response. "Potential Clients" are, in this situation, individuals at home, who have expressed a desire to see the non-porn video.

Sorry if I got the wrong forum. It had the name closest to the info I was
looking for.

I'll take a look at theFlash pages you sent to me, to see if there's an
advantage to using that approach.

Thanks again.
