Creating a Find Button

I posted this yesterday and somehow it got onto the FrontPage board. Anywho,
What is the easiest way to create a Find button for users to select the
records to update based on user entered criteria?

I am set up with a main switchboard. I'm really not sure where to start
with this one. Thanks!

I had previously posted a question regarding this and the answer I got was
that I didn't have to do this b/c Access provides filters. However, this is
for a class project and creating this button is one of the requirements.
