I want to replicate a lined paper that I can enter text above the line without the text removing the line. The kicker is I want to save the lined word doc with the lines and come back at different times to enter text; like a school paper or such
I did this once before a long time ago and of course I can't remember how I did it. Some hot key combination or what not maybe?
Other than taking a memory enhancement class for the dull witted does any one have an idea beyond copy paste which won't allow text to be entered after the line has been established
Thanks in advance

When you created the lined paper, the blank spaces between the lines are
actually characters. When you type, you are inserting another character
between the spaces. Thus the lines move. Have you tried pressing the
Insert key on your keyboard to shift to overtyped mode?

If the lined paper is going to be the prime use of Word, you may want to
configure Word to the overtype mode. In Word 2003 go to Tools, Options,
Edit tab.

You could create the lines as graphics. Sounds pretty tedious, though, as
you'd have to make sure each line is aligned where the type is going to be.

If you just want underlined text, you could just use an underlined font.

Is there any point to this, besides making the text harder to read?

Word is not Windows XP -- it sounds like table might work for you

try visiting

microsoft.public.word.tables

or one of the other Micrsoft Office newsgroups
