Createing a survey in Access

Hi,
Is it possible to create a database that resembles Excel in some regards? I
need to create something that if a particular record is selected, then it's
value is added to a total. Similar to a survey. So, if I have 5 questions,
and each of those 5 quesions has 7 answers, and those 7 answers have
specific values, I want to be able to summarize the total value for the
survey.

I don't even know how to get started. Any help or direction on this would
be greatly appreciated.
