I'm getting "create overlay failure" message on my laptop, which is running
on window xp, everytime I try to watch a DVD. It suggests to try lowering my
resolution and color. That does not seem to work. Can anyone help?

There may be another program that is loading thet uses the overlays.
Programs such as pcanywhere or netmeeting in my experience cause this error.

I know that you could try this fix for netmeeting.

Open netmeeting, goto tools, options, then the video tab.
Then
Uncheck the box "Automatically recieve video at the start of each call" Then
click ok.
Close netmeeting and then repeat those steps but this time put in a check
mark.

Then try again.

This has worked for me in the past. Otherwise you might have another
application that is causing this, or possibly it could just be a bad video
driver, in which case you would have to install the latest video driver from
the manufacurer of your computer or your video card.

Hope that helps.
