Hello Folks. I did what I would consider a normal defrag. After it completed
I had several difficult problems. My curosr now has a black box that is
about a 1/4 inch square. The black box will stay put and the "I" beam that
is my cursor moves as normal.
SECOND; I now have a second administrator account. When I click on tools,
then internet oppitions I have a banner on the bottom of the window that
says " some settings are managed by your system administrator" When I go to
controll panel and open users it has two administrators accounts, the owner
computer administrator as usual and a second users called administrator
computer adnministrator.
THIRD I have lost my "F" drive. I had a western digital 160 gig hard drive
on the F drive of my computer for back ups. I cannot use this external
drive as the "F" drive it was installed on has dissapeared.

Download a diagnostic utility from the hard drive mftr.'s website. You
will make a bootable cd/floppy with this file. Boot with the media you
created and do a thorough test. If the drive fails any physical tests,
replace it.

If the drive is good, back up your data and try a Repair Install. If
that still doesn't work, do more extensive hardware diagnostics to make
sure the hardware is healthy and then do a Clean Install.

Surprised you even got this problem to start with, since you're "living in
the love of the savior". Just goes to show, sometimes even that doesn't
help when one runs a toy operating system like XP.

Cheers.
