crashes

please can you help me,my computer has become very slow
and it is crashing more times than enough.
My norton scan is telling me that i am missing a file
named mscoree.dll,and its telling me that my puter will
not run as efficiently as it should.
I have looked every where for this file,and have been
unable to find it,could you please give me a clue,and a
clue as to why my puter is crashing.
It also seems to have a problem multi-tasking,not being
able to do even two things at once.
I am running windows XP,with a pentium 3.

The missing "mscoree.dll" file is really not missing, and you don't
have a problem with Windows XP or Norton.
You have to go to windows update and download the update called ".NET
Framework."
Once you've installed it check it again with Norton and it should be
fixed
