crash with unsaved Excel file

I once was able to retrieve an Excel file which I hadn't
saved, and I had a full crash and had to reboot. Does
anyone know a way to get back a file??
 
If you're using xl2002 and have autorecovery enabled, then the next time you
open excel, it should see that a crash occurred and give you options about what
it saved.

If you're not using xl2002, then maybe you were using Jan Karel Pieterse's
addin.

If you weren't using either, then I don't know how to get it back.
