crash after installation

i have Windows XP x64 installed on a computer with AMD64
after the installation, the computer shows selection of OS (W XP and W XP x64)
when i selected x64, then the screen is black and the computer crashed

who can help me

Could be due to many things. But this sounds more like a hardware problem. It
could be that your power supply is dying. I had this problem before when Windows
would freeze or crash unexpectedly and it was found that the power supply was
getting old and weak - as you may know modern systems are very power hungry.

I would suggest that you try a reinstalling Windows. If you've done that
already, try installing Windows on another hard drive. If you could get your
hands on another power supply try using that. I would recommend at least a 350W
power supply - I personally use a 450W :)

the power supply for the computer is 450W, this is ok

i have installed Windows XP x64 on a SATA HD with 64bit driver

By the way, my failed power supply was a 430W so don't automatically assume
larger rate means longer the life of the supply.
