It's one of my "must-haves."

Let me turn into one of those "me-too-ers" kind of posters right here!!

I don't know what's more pathetic, Jack Abramoff's sleaze or Republican
paralysis in the face of it. Abramoff walks out of a D.C. courthouse in
his pseudo-Hasidic homburg, and all that leading Republicans can do is
promise to return his money and remind everyone that some Democrats are
involved in the scandal, too.

That's a great G.O.P. talking point: some Democrats are so sleazy, they
get involved with the likes of us.

Only thing I'd say is, it needs care (having wiped out my browser history
again)

Yes, I know it's my fault. ;~)

It is if you look for it :-)

And where might that be? I can only find it as shareware.

If you are impressed with CCleaner you should try Cleanup! Betcha CC didn't
clean up ALL the junk like Cleanup! will! Just google it.

I was initially tempted when I looked at the Cleanup website, but when I got
to the download page and saw that the programs creator is pushing "free
iPod" referrals I passed...

BE VERY CAREFUL USING CLEANUP!

It is for advanced users only. Check the wrong settings and you can wipe
out things you don't want to lose, like the following:

- ALL entries from your favorites
- ALL entries from All Users
- Fully erase your hard drive

Make sure you have 2 shortcuts for CleanUp!, one for Analyze Mode
(called Demo mode by default), and one for Cleaning Mode (just named
CleanUp! by default). Analyze mode is read-only. It will show you what
it would delete but it won't delete anything. This gives you a chance to
back up important files. In regular mode, it gets cleaned/wiped.

IMO, it is much safer to use CCleaner. Use CleanUp only for things that
CCleaner cannot do. If you have kids that use the computer, don't put
CleanUp on the start menu. Put the shortcut for it hidden, where only
you parents know where it is.

If "cleanup" is the batch file I remember IMO it's far too aggressive, and
cleans out all sorts of things I want to keep.

It's a ripoff of Fred LAnga's Clean9x.bat, which I really *can* recommend,
I used it till fairly recently when I found Geodisk, which is a nice "fire
and forget" maintenance utility, cleans out undisputed rubbish, scanreg,
scanrdisk, defrag HDs, using the nice ME defragger, while you have a fag
and a beer :-)

Fred LAnga's Clean9x.bat works under which OS ? It's a command-line
utility ?

I've looked around, and all I can find is a trial version. Trialware
isn't freeware. If you're referring to pirated and cracked copies of the
program, you are in the wrong newsgroup.

Otherwise, am I missing something? Do you have a link to share for a
freeware version of the program?
