cpu usage

I am having a problem with high cpu usage. Any time I attempt to run a game
the graphics freeze and the process reading for for cpu on that game is 100%.
Without any programs operating the CPU reading is erratic with system idle
going +90%.

Any ideas?!?

I am having a similar problem. However, my system idle is at 0% and my
system is at 100%. I am running all the latest spyware, etc. and Norton
Antivirus.

Your problem, whilst you think it is the same, is in fact very much the
opposite.

Unplug your internet connection and see if it comes back down.

Do a full virus scan.

Run Spyware checks and pray that you nuke the beasties that are running
without your approval.

Also if your system is a low performance unit [say <900Mhz] you may think of
upgrading.
