I am going to replace my Athlon XP 1800+ with a 2400+. I
have an Asus A7V333 motheboard with BIOS revision 1017.
If I REPLACE the processor, don't I have to reset the
BIOS or something? Does anybody have a clue how or do I
just have to boot into the BIOS and reset it from there?

If your motherboard is set to Automatically detect the
processor, then no changes are required. However, you
should check that the motherboard will accept the speed
processor you are upgrading to. Sometimes a newer CPU
is not supported without a Microcode update to BIOS.

I performed a BIOS update last night to the latest
revision that Asus has for the A7V333 without using a
beta version. The FSB on it is 266MHz, which my
motherboard supports. It now can support speeds past
2GHz. I had revision 1005 before this update, and it
would support only up to 1.8GHz or the 2200+. Thanks.
