I have been having system crashes for the last week or
so. I have come to find my CPU is running at 100% almost
all the time. I have disabled alomst all programs except
the virus defender programs and my esential programs.
What I have noticed is that whatever CPU power my
programs are not using, the system idle process is using
the rest. Can anyone help. Please email.

Replies normally go to the group, not to mail, so all can learn and
participate.

The higher the "idle process" the better, if that is what is your concern.
This is unused capacity. The trouble lies elsewhere.

I am experiencing the exact same problem. When I connect to internet,
there are not enough resources to control my mouse or play sound.

NMB - I would be grateful if you could let me know if you come up with
a solution,

John
