NOTE: this is svcShost...not svchost.exe!! Has anyone else had this happen?
How do you fix it? The problem seems to be from multiple executions of this
process in the system startup. I can't find anything out about this program
other than it seems to be related to windows update. I can temporarily turn
one execution off with msconfig, but then I have to do that every time I
startup my computer. Arrgh!

It sounds as though your machine may have been comprimised. When ever you
see a variation of the scvhost.exe process running on your system, this is
generally an indication that someone is running their own process from your
machine.

I would suggest running a Virus scanning and Spyware utility on your system
and if you do not have one you can use the online scanning utility located
at the link below:

http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/personal.htm

Just click on the scan now under the Trend micro housecall section.

Hope this helps.
