Occasionally the CPU usage on my computer (DELL Dimension 8200) shoots up to
100% for seemingly no reason, even after I close all my applications. Makes
things run REALLY slow. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

It would help with a responce if you would tell us what process is spiking your CPU

Sorry. digstream.exe seems to be accounting for about 97%.

Do you notice a lot of pop up ads while online? If so, download and install Ad-Aware and SpyBot. These are spyware removal programs which when installed (spyware) can create all sorts of activity on your system. Also, I would recomend an updated anti virus scan of your computer. If you are not paying for updates there is a free anti virus program which I use and like. Go to www.avast.com to download and install. I think you will be shocked to see what's on your computer once you use these programs! I hope this solves your problem.
