Greetings --

To create a domain, you would need to start with a server
operating system, such as Win2K Server, or Windows Server 2003. WinXP
Pro, however, is an excellent choice for a client OS to use on the
domain's workstations.

Jack is right,

First you buy a server. Make it a domain controller.
then come back here and well help you with the next
couple of steps

Thanks Robert and Jack, i'm pulling out the old p2 450
box and I'm ready to pop a netcard in it and install win
2000......im using a router sharing an ip connection with
the two present pc's. I'm assumeing that one new
netcard will be enough to plug the old one into the
router also. Please tell me if im wrong.....and why won't
win XP PRO work as a domain controller...seems MS would
make it That way Just Curious........Much Much
Thanks.........-ALan-

WinXP Pro is a workstation OS. To create a domain, you need to
use a Server OS.
