Counting number of times a unique record is found

How do you count the number of times each unique value is
found in a range?

For example, I have range A1:A11000 and in this range are
many different values, however there are allot of the same
values in that range multiple times?


How do I count the number of times each different value is
listed in the range?

Hi Todd
an easy way: use a pivot table on your range. Use column A as row item
and countof column A as data item
 
I have never used a pivot table. can you please explain
how to set this up?
