COUNT NON-BLANK CELLS WITH REFERENCE TO ANOTHER COLUMN

I want to create a formula to count non-blank (text) cells in a column for
those cells that have an indicator in another column. For example:
A B
1 CAT X
2 DOG
3 X
4 GOD X
The answer I need is 2 - there are two non-blank cells in Column A that have
an indicator in Column B. So, count all non-blank cells in Column A, where
there is an X in Column B (the columns may not be adjacent).
