Please Help! I have been having problems with very, very, very slow response
on loading of internet sites for the last couple of months. A co-worker told
me to re-do my hard drive to the way it was when I purchased it. I did it
with the Vists OS Disc that came with the PC. It now only operates the same,
but now it will not allow me to download software from the net, such as AOL.
It starts, but then quits on me. Also, it will not let me load it from an
disc I have used many times before.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

First, I'd clear your browser by clicking <Tools><Internet Options> in IE and
delete all temp files and cookies, any of which may cause probs. Then I'd
make sure you haven't anything installed which may cause a conflict ie. more
than one Java, Sun recommends uninstalling&reinstalling newer versions rather
than updating. Remember odd numbered versions are Betas. Bring up Task
Manager with Ctrl<>Alt<>Del to make sure no inwanted processes are running
and if so, kill them or remove from start process by running MSCONFIG from
start. Then reboot and try again.
