Corruption

I have an Access 2000 application with about 20 users. The
backend corrupts quite frequently. I have experienced
this: After I compact the database it beings to grow for
about a week until it stabilizing at a given size. During
the period it is growing, I am experiencing corruptions.
Once it reaches its largest size, I get corruption
seldomly.
When I had this at Access 97, I was able to repair and not
compact. By doing this, I was able to keep corruption to a
minimum. But with 2000 this is not posible.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stan

There are a number of things you want to check.

First, you need to have a front end placed on EACH computer that connects to
the back end. Do that, and you eliminate about 90% of your corruptions.

Further, that mdb front end should be a mde..as this also helps each local
pc in terms of FE growth, and performance.

And, you do have the updates installed for both JET and access?

access97 did tolerate allowing more then one user in the same front end..but
it seems you been lucky.

Do you have the above setup?

the list of things to check for corruption can be found here:
