I installed a Sony CRX175E CD Burner in my computer about one year ago. It worked fine for about six months, then one day it just disappeared from the My Computer window. It is, however, still present in the device manager. When I check the properties it says that "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)". Since this burner is compatible with WinXP according to the Compatibility catalog, it has led me to believe that my Plug-and-Play drivers are corrupted or missing. Is there any way to fix this? I have no other CD drives on this PC. Please email your response.
