Corrupted inbox

My system crashed when I tried to send some email and I
lost my whole inbox. I can tell that it is there due to
the size of email. I can read some of the email in word
but I really need to recover the attachments. Is there
any program that will try to recover my missing emails?
 
Is this Outlook or Outlook Express?
