corrupted files - how to repair?

Microsoft Tech Support has told me I have damanged files:

config.nt
autoexec.nt
command.com ALL IN WinXP Pro

Their instructions for repairing require a CD -- Compaq
did not provide a CD with my EVO notebook, only a
QuickRestore Cd that reformats the hard drive.

can some Smart & Helpful soul give me any suggestions?
 
Look on the supplied CD for an I386 folder. These are your install files.
See if the needed files are in the folder. If they are, you can expand them
out using msconfig.
