Corrupted Default Home Web Page

The default homepage on my Internet Explorer 6 was
Hijacked and reset by some kind of nasty virus. I
installed and ran Spybot - Search & Destroy and Ad-aware
6.0. They cleaned the system however when I go to Tools,
Options, General Tab, and click in the Home Page section
on the "Use Default" button, the Explorer still loads
this stupid corrupt web site as a default setting. Is
there any way in the program or system files I can reset
or change this default home page settings? I even tried
to uninstall and reinstall the explorer - no luck. I
appreciate your assistance. I cannot believe that
Microsoft does not have any remedies for this problem
after it already happened to your computer. It has to be
a way to remove this script from the computer. Thanks in
advance.

What about just typing in an address for the home page instead of pressing
'use default'?
 
It is working OK when I type new address or when I use
the current page as a default page. I just want to get
rid of the script or the file that is sitting somewhere
in my computer and setting the wrong default web address
on my computer when I press the default button. I just do
not feel comfortable having unfamiliar auto executable
files on my computer. If it could reset the default value
on my browser, then it may wipe out my drive some day or
send some nasty e-mails to my relatives. Brrrr not
good. It would be nice to get rid of it completely, I
wish I knew how.

Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
